Qualifying wartime veterans and surviving spouses may receive a monthly, tax-free VA pension supplement known as Aid and Attendance that can help cover personal in-home care. Blooming Beacon provides the RN-supervised care and documentation that supports families through this process.
How It Works
VA Aid and Attendance is a tax-free pension supplement available to certain wartime veterans and their surviving spouses who meet service-period requirements, have a medical need for assistance with activities of daily living (such as bathing, dressing, or mobility), and meet income and net-worth limits set by the VA. Eligibility is determined by the VA, not by Blooming Beacon, and we encourage families to confirm current rules with the VA or a VA-accredited representative.
To qualify, the VA generally looks for evidence of ongoing care needs. Blooming Beacon helps by providing structured, RN-supervised in-home care with clear care plans and documentation of the assistance your loved one receives. Our care notes and plans can support the medical-need evidence families submit with an Aid and Attendance application.
We coordinate care with your physicians and, where appropriate, with VA and community providers so everyone works from the same plan. If your family is also using Medicare, Medicaid/Apple Health, or long-term care insurance, we help you understand how those benefits may work alongside VA support during a free consultation.
Note: VA Aid and Attendance eligibility, income limits, and benefit amounts are set by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and can change. Blooming Beacon does not determine eligibility or guarantee approval. We recommend confirming current requirements with the VA or a VA-accredited representative.
